2009 Ministry Summary (Part one)

In the next few posts, we will share portions of our recent 2009 Ministry Summary. Posting all of the information at once would make any one post too long, so we will divide it up over the next several days.

Monthly highlights from each month this past year:

January
*Arrived in Santiago on Jan. 13
*Attended the annual GMSA missionary conference at the Lican Bible Camp in southern Chile. We met with the Field Council about the details of our orientation/mentorship time in Temuco.

February
*Our container was released and unloaded at the Pirque Bible Camp.
*Started planning to move to Temuco

March
*Made a trip to Temuco to find a house
*Located and rented a house

April
*Moved to Temuco
*Unpacking and settling into our home.
*Officially started our orientation time under Daryl Thompson. Started to attend the 21 de Mayo church.

May
*More unpacking and settling into the Temuco area.
*Started language tutor sessions with Rodrigo

June
*Participated in the Bible Institute’s Open House
*Pulpit supply in the Lautaro church
*Added an additional language tutor (Myrian B)
*Worked on a few projects at the Lican Bible Camp

July
*More pulpit supply at the Lautaro church
*Started to help the music class at the BI

August
*Lukas Daniel was born on Aug 1st
*Attended a one day Bible Institute Seminar

September

*Attended George Black’s funeral (GMSA co-worker)
*Jenna Kurtz arrived (Northland short-termer)
*Served at the Jr. High Retreat at the Lican Bible Camp

October
*Special trip up to Santiago for missionary fellowship
*Served at the Young People’s Retreat at the Lican Bible Camp
*David attended the Tri-Country Pastor’s Conf. in Uruguay

November
*Attended a special Thanksgiving missionary get together
*Received the bad news on our vehicle. Decided to ship it back to the States and buy a vehicle here in Chile.

December

*The Bible Institute graduation
*Jenna flew home to the States
*Started on the BI kitchen renovation project
