Trip to Temuco: Thursday
Recently, I went to Temuco for several reasons, but mainly to find a house to rent. In the next series of posts, I will share what the Lord did and what I saw and learned on the trip.
I was thankful to be able to ride down to Temuco with Daryl Thompson (our co-worker and mentor during our orientation time). He and his wife are moving to Temuco as well, since he is the new Bible Institute director. We loaded up his van full of their belongings and then hit the road.
The trip took about 8 hours. Throughout the trip, we would come across some weird stuff on the road that kept us entertained. Above was a pickup loaded with potatoes.
The beautiful Andes Mountains
When I saw this truck on the road it made me laugh. We hope to be moving soon, but probably not this way! More on our upcoming move to Temuco in future posts.
Daryl and I talked the whole way down. He is known as "Mr. Map of Southern Chile", due to his knowledge and experience in southern Chile. The whole trip was filled with stories, history, and lessons from his 40+ years of missionary service in Chile. My 8 hours with Daryl in the van were a great start to my orientation time in Chile.
