GMSA Conf. 09 (Part 1)

Our time in southern Chile for the annual GMSA missionary conference was a great time of encouragement and fellowship with our co-workers and family. It was great to see everybody again and catch up on what God is doing in each of the ministries in Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay.

The scenery around the camp is one of the many blessings we experienced during our time in the South.
We were able to spend extra time with Kristi's side of the family during our time at camp.

Left to right: Dan and Liz Thompson & 3 kids (GMSA Camp Director in Chile), our family, Andy and Kolette Thompson & 3 kids (GMSA Church planters in Salto, Uruguay, and Terry and Carol Thompson (GMSA Gen. Director).

Our co-worker, George Black, made it to the conference this year. He is 101 years old and still doing the work of the ministry in northern Chile. His testimony and joyful spirit has not waned in his later years. Kristi and I were able to spend some time talking with him and asking him questions. He was such an encouragement to us.

Our "second family" is the GMSA mission body. Our kids will have many "adopted" aunts and uncles (Tios y tias) growing up in Chile. All the MK's bonded together and had a great week of outdoor fun in the dirt, woods, or the beach. It was great to be at conference this year as a "on the field" missionary, instead of just a visitor. Next years conference will be in Uruguay.

Come back again for the next post about our time at conference.
