Now that the Bible Institute's academic year is over, the kitchen remodeling project has begun in full force. The BI will be housing 5 students next school year (which is a big answer to prayer). There is much to be done to get the dorms ready for these students. One of the biggest needs is getting the kitchen updated into the 21st century. It has been over 35 yrs. since the BI kitchen has been updated in any major way!

Daryl and I started the first phase (Demolition) the other day. Above:
the Before picture.
The During picture: Daryl and I needed to take out the cupboards, sink, pipes, door frames, doors, and wall siding.
The After picture:
We will be donating some of the cupboards to the Lican Bible Camp kitchen.

After everything was tore out of the kitchen, we started on pulling the siding off of the walls.

What we found behind the siding was decades of filth, rat dung, dust, and bugs. Kinda makes ya want to eat in the kitchen, huh?

There is so much to do yet, but we are pleased with the progress so far. We are thankful that half of the funding for this project has been received already. We trust in the Lord to bring in the remaining funds, materials, and labor to complete the project by the time next semester starts in March.
We will keep you posted on the progress. If you have any questions about the project or would like to know how to help, just contact us via email (click on our "About Us" profile at the top of our blog).
