In Chile, February IS the month for family vacations. All roads heading south are full with overpacked cars.

Chileans generally have more days off in a year than Americans. I think the average is 25 vacation days here in Chile. Chileans love their vacations. Most will head south to the lakes region and rent cabins and swim in the cool mountain feed lakes. The beaches are full of kids, teens, and adults enjoying the water activities.

Ministry Implications Questions that need addressing:
1. Is dropping evening services due to lack of people (on vacation) wrong?
2. Is not having an evening service Biblically wrong?
3. Are there cultural dynamics that affect the times of Sunday services (when and how long the services are)? If so, what are they?
These and many more cultural issues I am still wrestling with and praying about coming to personal (and defendable) conclusions here in the near future.

Meanwhile, enjoy your vacations, whenever you take them. Just remember not to take a vacation from your relationship with God and your responsibility to your local church.
