-Salmon has become Chile's third-largest export, with annual sales of $2 billion.
-Today 60 percent of the salmon Americans eat comes from Chile…fresh, frozen and smoked.
-Chile is expected to surpass Norway as the world leader in Salmon production.
-A $2 billion industry for this developing country, it is responsible for more than 50,000 jobs on farms and in processing factories.
-Environmentalists warn, however, that the rapid growth of the industry is an environmental mess in the making.

So the next time you order Salmon at your favorite restaurant, ask if it came from Chile.
