Departed around 10:15 am
226 miles
Arrived at 3 pm
We made it! After 5 days of travel, too much fast food, sore backsides, hotel rooms, and hours of kids tapes and videos, we are finally at our new apartment.

Kaylee is excited to tell you all that this is where we live now (Edinburg, TX).
This is what our van looked like last Friday morning back in Minnesota. Fully packed and not much room for anything else. When I shut the door, our "door ajar" sensor stayed on since there was so much stuff in the back.

This is what the back door looked like when we finally opened it in Texas. Stuff had shifted during our trip so many of the small items (like Peanut Butter, Cake mixes, fans, canned goods) fell out when the door was opened. The kids were so excited to get out of the van. They "helped" a little with taking in stuff to the apartment....but

mostly ran around in front of our apartment. They will definitely capitalize on the warmer weather by playing outside daily. They are already asking for me to blow up their swimming pool, which by the way will not be set up in the next three days, due to a "cold snap" here in South Texas. Cold snap, meaning 40's. Good grief! I've golfed in colder weather.
We were met on campus by our co-workers Dan & Diana Kunnari. They, along with their son Troy, helped us unpack and begin the process of settling in to our new place.

We got all the linens on the beds so that the kids would hopefully rest. I laid down for 25 minutes for a power nap. When I got up, I checked on Kaylee in her room to see if she was sleeping. She was nowhere to be found. Not in her bed. Not in her room. Not in the boy's room. Kristi didn't know where she was. She didn't come into the kitchen where Kristi was working. Finally, I checked the bathroom...and there she was...standing by the sink with the soap dispenser pumping the soap out like there was no tomorrow! What a little stinker.

We were thankful to be invited over for some supper with the Kunnari family and the Spink family. The Spinks are going to Northern Chile with ABWE, so we hit it off with them immediately.
Well...the kids are in bed, our apartment is a disaster zone, and we are exhausted. Much to do tomorrow. Buy textbooks, campus tour, go to the mail room, get groceries, put stuff in our small storage locker, was the van (caked with MN road salt), more unpacking, and catching up on emails.
Thanks again for your prayers!
Give us a day or two to settle in and then we'll post a photo tour of our apartment and language school campus.
