Departure around 10 am
431 miles
Arrived in San Antonio around 6 pm
After a decent night's rest, we all got packed and out the door a little after 9 am. We decided not to eat the "less-than-continental" breakfast at the hotel, but use some of our gift cards at McDonald's.

The McDonald's had a large play area, so we let the kids run around for over 30 minutes after eating breakfast.

Maybe our plan backfired, cause when we got all the kids into the van, they were all chatter-boxes and hyper. Kristi and I didn't get our morning coffee so we were slow to being chipper.

Kaylee playing in the "3 story" play area.

Jordan, of course, was the leader of the group by giving Ben and Kaylee the "grand tour" of the play area.

It is true that everything is bigger in Texas. There is no such thing as a small pick-up here in Texas. There was one truck that parked next to us at a gas station that the bed of the truck was taller than our van (with our top carrier included).
Funny Stories from Today:
1. I took Ben to the bathroom at the gas station and there was another man in there wearing cowboy boots and hat. After the man left the bathroom, Ben got all excited and turned to me and said, "Daddy, did you see that man? He is a REAL cowboy!"
2. Ben was looking at his laminated US map today in the van explaining to Jordan the path we were driving today and exactly where we will be living. Here is what he said, "No Jordan, we are going to live right here...right next to Mex-ki-co!"

Thanks to G & G, the kids got to pick their own candy out at the gas station.
Skittles and Sprees are their favorites.

So with most of Texas in our rear view mirror, we have a shorter drive tomorrow. We plan to sleep in a little bit (8:30 am) at the hotel, then possibly drive into downtown San Antonio to see the Alamo. Language school is only 250 miles away and we should arrive sometime mid-afternoon.
Thanks for your prayers and for following our travels on the blog.
Until next time...

I am so excited that you are almost there!! Enjoy the Alamo - and if you get a chance to go back sometime, make sure you visit the Riverwalk nearby. It's very pretty! (:
