Pastor Appreciation Sunday

This past Sunday, July 19th, was Pastor Appreciation Sunday at the 21 de Mayo Church. The members of the church had planned an all day celebration for Pastor Marcelo and his wife Teresa.

After the morning service, the meal was prepared and tables were set up. Jordan and Ben played outside in the church yard with their friends from church.

They also watched the men set up the grill to cook the large amount of chicken for the meal.

The chicken before...

during...

...and after being cooked on the grill.

One of the lay leaders (standing on the left) prayed for the meal and for Pastor and Teresa (seated). His prayer was full of thanks to the Lord for sending Pastor to their church and for the ministry that Pastor and Teresa do each week.

After the meal, three gifts were presented to Pastor and Teresa. Every member of the church gave some money (what they could) to buy them these special gifts. Pastor received a new black leather briefcase and a new warm blue coat. Teresa received an orange full length shawl sweater.

It was a wonderful day for the church. What a wonderful sight to see the church people taking care of their own pastor. Our family is also thankful for Pastor Marcelo and Teresa. They have been such a big encouragement to us since we have moved to the Temuco area.

With each event at church, our children interact more with the children from the church. Above: Kaylee played with three friends from her SS class. (Diego, Fernanda , and Belen)
