Working at Lican Part 4

How in the world could six children WANT to pick up firewood?

Listen in on the conversation that took place...

Ok kids, who wants to go on a space adventure?

I do, replied all.

Well, hop into the space ship and we will fly around the camp to look for new planets. But be on the look out for bad guys and meteors. Get your space blasters ready!

The space ship flew around the camp taking the "long cut" to insure maximum fun for the space travelers. Dangerous meteors were blown to pieces. Mean bad guys were spotted and eliminated. The mission was successful in reaching the destination...the fuel fields on Mercury.

Upon arrival on the planet Mercury, the captain explained that the space ship was out of fuel and couldn't return to Earth without a full load of fuel. It just so happened that there was a bunch of firewood by the space ship.

The captain thinks that if we only could fill the truck up with fuel we could return to Earth in time for our next mission from headquarters!

Ok, let's go guys...let's fill up the tank.

The girls stayed in the space ship to direct the boys where to put the fuel.

Do we have enough fuel yet Captain?

Nope, we only have enough to get us to Pluto...keep picking up more fuel. We need to get back to Earth!

After filling up the space ship with fuel, the space travelers needed to drop off the fuel at the space station that converts the firewood into gas to get the space ship home.

Can we have another mission captain? Can we find some treasure?

The space travelers did get time to play throughout the day. They developed plans for a tree house. Even a week later, Jordan and Ben are still drawing up new and elaborate plans for the perfect tree house.

All six had fun together throughout our time at Lican. We hope to do it again soon.

Today (June 18th) is Micah's 7th birthday! Jordan and Ben gave Micah (in the blue coat) a new soccer ball last week for his birthday present. They were able to "enjoy" the ball despite the cool temps.

Just another day in the life of an MK...a life mixed with ministry, work, play, new friends, and, of course, a little space adventure.

We need lots more space adventurers with all the limbs down on camp. Thanks for all your hard work last week! Can't wait for more fun time and fellowship.
